WHO WE ARE
SWS Fund is a non-profit that acts like a PTA for the Seattle World School. The school is a Title I public high school serving newcomer immigrants from many countries, e.g. Guatemala, Mexico, Vietnam, and Somalia. 96% of its population are the neediest of the needy, school district classified as "students of color furthest from educational justice." Because so many of SWS students are homeless or unaccompanied minors, there are few parents who help at the school.
We formed SWS Fund to fill that gap. In the five years of our operation, we have raised over $500,000 through your donations, government and foundation grants, and corporate matching funds. Last year, we were awarded the prestigious Advancing Education grant from BECU, a large credit union.
